Kathleen Tough, owner of Chantilly Bride in Sunderland City Centre, says that more couples than ever before are getting married abroad.

We have increased our stock of straight, easy-to-pack, wedding dresses as so many girls are getting married abroad. As well as the usual Caribbean weddings, we are seeing an increasing number of couples getting married in more unusual European locations like Monaco, Sorrento, and Tuscany.

We don't have set appointment times at Chantilly Bride, and encourage brides to come along and enjoy their experience of dressing up. They can stay the whole day if they choose. It's all very relaxed.

Once a customer came in to `browse' on the Monday, and she was getting married on the Thursday. We still managed to find her the perfect wedding dress.
